A Madness Shared By Two eBook Review
Paul O'Brien 10th December 2012
The Eriksson twins case is perhaps one of the most puzzling and bizarre real life mysteries ever to be shown on British television. Outside of the heavily edited BBC TV documentary, very little was known or published about the twins and what really happened on the 17th and 18th May 2008. Many important questions remain unanswered.
David Canns book, A Madness Shared By Two, is an in depth investigation into the Erikson twins case which leaves no stone unturned in seeking the truth of what really happened in May 2008.
Through his intense and relentless investigation, the author uncovers and exposes many areas in this strange and fascinating case, which have have so far remained in the dark for far too long. The book not only examines the dramatic M6 motorway incident, but also examines in great detail the much broader picture, and the events leading up to and after the events on the 17th May 2008.
The book contains a great deal of fresh information about the case, which is not available in the public domain. Key witnesses have been interviewed by the author, as well as other important witnesses not even mentioned in either the Police investigation or the BBC TV documentaries.
The author puts forward a pretty strong case of a Police cover up to obfuscate the real story behind this fascinating mystery, and backs this up with a great deal of solid and convincing evidence.
The version of the book I read for review was the electronic ebook version which contained links to important unseen 'edited out' footage from the BBC TV documentary. The author also includes photographs relating to the case, as well as copies of his own correspondence with witnesses and official bodies connected with the case.
In a case which so little has been known about since 2008 other than the official story, I was very surprised at the amount of new information in the book. I found the book to be well written, with the findings of the investigation very well explained. The book includes a comprehensive appendix section, which I found very helpful where the findings discussed subjects I am not familiar with, such as Police operations and hypnotism.
I would definitely recommend this book to anybody wanting to know the real truth about this remarkable case.
'A Madness Shared by Two' ... including I think a madman shared by two too- lookíng forward to reading the chapter headed 'Sabina's Mystery Partner', sounds like that's where things start to get freakish. - Loraine Connon

Not the easiest book to read.I read it twice just to make sure I understood everything.
David MC Cann obviously speaks from first hand exprerience when refering to how the police force works.
Some interesting twists and turns to keep you reading. A lot has clearly been covered up and omitted from the versions you see on T.V. and the media in general.
I had the kindle addition which was probably better value for money because you have more info, I think than in the paper format,so nearly half the book was made up of the appendix.
I would recommend it, even though I already knew a bit about this subject from the internet

May I take this opportunity to congratulate you on the release of your book. I'm sure your time, energy, and effort will go a long way into answering some of the questions raised surrounding this bizarre turn of events. ________________________________________________

4 Star Review from Amazon 14-12-12
A madness shared by two is definitly a solid read if you are interested in the Eriksson twins case. The writers stick to the facts and if they do suggest a theory he can not back up he clearly states that "I am not saying this to be true" which is a good way to present the reader with alternate theories that they can decide for themselves. The book as tons of information that I have not seen before and information that I have scavenged the internet looking for but had not found. Some how the writer and his partner uncovered lots of information which definitly points to some type of cover up, or at least serious errors in the justice system that allowed Sabina to be free after her apparent psychotic episode. I give this book 4 stars because without the "court bundle" evidence there is no way to have all the information the authorites do. Transparency in this case would allow the family of Glenn know the truth and the writer is the first one to admit that without the court bundle the evidence that has been found by the writer etc. is what will be used to create a hypothesis that makes sense in the abnormal case of the Eriksson twins. I think it is great that finally someone did some investigation on this case, which to me seems to me if it was the diagnosis of "a madness shared by two" the psychology community would be quick to jump on this well documented case that was caught on national television and put these studies in psychology books as they did the amazing story of Phinneus Gage? (spelling) Anyways this is the only solid source of information about the twins to date and I assure you that you wont find any site, blog, or book with more information than this book. http://www.amazon.com/Madness-Shared-Two-Hollinshead-ebook/dp/B00AM08YLU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1355515209&sr=8-2&keywords=a+madness+shared+by+two
Re:A Madness Shared By Two - submitted by TheUknownAgenda;
Thank you first of all for your prompt reply. First a little background. I first became aware of the Eriksson sisters case during the winter of 2010, but due to time constraints and work commitments I failed to invest sufficient time in the case to fully appreciate it's complex nature. It is only very recently that I resumed my interest in the case quite by chance.
As I mentioned in our initial correspondence I await to take receipt of your book and look forward to reading your discoveries and theories. However, I feel that my own amateur fumblings will pale in comparison to your diligent efforts, I'm sure that upon reading your work my own findings will be adequately covered. Yet I am intrigued enough to mention something at this stage that has me questioning much of the same evidence over and over again. Please, if my following comments are covered in detail in your book I do offer you my most humble apologies
My intrigue surrounds the timeline of events immediately after Sibina Erikssons exit from the North Staffordshire Magistrates Court on the 19th May. From the BBC documentary "Madness In The Fast Lane" it states that Glen and Peter left the Royal Oak at approx 21:30 which would place them upon Christchurch Street some time between 21:30-22:00 during this time they encountered Sabina. I have been unable to obtain an approximate time of Sabinas exit from the court as the magistrates court closed on the 6th December this year. Even if I assumed her release to be mid afternoon it would leave Sabina alone for 4-5 hours in the immediate area of the Royal Oak public house 0.2 miles from the magistrates court and Christchurch Street 0.1 miles away and Glens home on Duke Street 0.7 miles away. It would seem that upon release she failed to find her sisters whereabouts or suitable accommodation for the night, or to eat even. Instead choosing to approaching two complete strangers using the pretense of the attractiveness of Glen's dog at approx 21:30 in the evening. Where had Sabina been between her release from the magistrates and the encounter with Glen and Peter. It is at this point that I find discrepancy's in Peters testimony. According to the thisisstafforshire.co.uk web site dated the 4th Spetember 2009 it states that both Glen and Peter left the Royal Oak at approx 19:00, but Peter states during the documentary that they didn't leave until approx 21:00. In addition Peter states on the website article that "We saw her across the street and she shouted something about Glenn's dog, saying it was a nice dog. She crossed over and said she was lost." But in the documentary he states that "we sort of went over to her" after she commented on Glen's dog. During the documentary he passes comment on Sabinas jacket (her sisters green jacket) and states it was a "big bubble jacket", upon closer inspection Ursulas jacket could hardly be classed as big or bubble like. And the last point of interest is regarding Sabinas phone or phones. In the article dated the 4th September he makes mention of Sabinas clear plastic bag and it's contents. He states "her phone" just one, but in the documentary he states two phones in the bag. Incredibly poor and factually incorrect reporting or something else? Lastly and for me the most interesting. Peter recalls Sabina needing to find accommodation for the evening and to locate her sisters whereabouts who has been involved in an accident. In effect she was lost. Peter states during the documentary that Glen said "theres nothing like that around here". Oddly both men failed to mention the North Stafford Hotel just 1.2 miles away from Christchurch Street directly opposite the main Stoke rail station, it has a excellent reputation and offers a high standard of accommodation at very reasonable rates (starting at £29 per room per night). Instead they offer to take this odd Swedish stranger to Glens home for something to eat and to find out her sisters whereabouts. Once inside Glens home they drink and smoke freely, according to Peter they were "chilling out and having a couple of cans each. Even by Peters own account during the documentary he states he has growing fear regarding the stranger but all the same he leaves Glen with her without having made any attempt to call any of the local hospitals or emergency services. What happened during the period of Peter leaving that evening (if indeed it was that evening) and the following lunchtime when Glen rang his brother Paul who worked in some capacity at the hospital? Why not ring the hospital directly, the accident and emergency department? Sabina speaks excellent English. Within minutes after going outside asking his neighbor for tea bags he stumbles outside stabbed four times and left for dead .....
So, we have a woman released from magistrates court spending maybe 4/5 hours in staying in incredibly close proximity to the public house used by Glen and Peter and Glens home who has roughly £1000 pound cash on her person who makes no valid attempt that we know of to feed herself, locate her sisters whereabouts, or find suitable accommodation for the evening. Instead she approaches two strangers and accepts their "act of charity". Maybe I have a rather over active imagination regarding the version of events that day, but for me things do not add up.
For the time being I shall leave it at that until such a time as you feel it necessity to converse again.
Kind Regards.

I'm very grateful that you managed to get back in touch, I'm sure with the launch of your book your time may have been at a premium this week.
In all honesty I wasn't quite sure if I had done the right thing in pointing out my observations to you, but as I had suspected you had the areas covered well in advance of me. However it's always pleasing to see someone who concurs with your thought's and findings. All being well I take receipt of the book today, and I can honestly say it has been some time since I have looked forward to the release of a title, if memory serves the last time was when the late Roger Hargreaves released the Mr. Men series! In all seriousness though I collect second hand books so the purchase of a new one is an oddity for me.
Well, suffice to say over the next few days the family will be offered the occasional grunt in the form of communication whilst I indulge myself with your book, so at this time I shall sign off and wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.
Al the very best with the book! - TheUnknownAgenda

Reply from A Madness Shared by Two: Hi there, you raise some valid points, which others also have. We don't rule out some form of mind-control was taking place, or that even some form of MK-Ultra tatics were employed. - You're correct in assuming there is a more sinister side to this story, as we have uncovered some startling evidence that shows a 'cover-up' has taken place. You're also correct when you say; '...that alone should give life imprisonment.' We have been in direct contact with the family and their friends, yet to date they have not replied, and can now understand why, and are convinced that the twins will probably never talk about those days to anyone, - and why it's worth a read to see what it is we say about these reasons. The paperback is basically dedicated to the actual twins lives, the official story, and what 'really' took place on those days in May 2008. We prove there has been a cover-up, and when people read what took place only hours before their mad dash on to the M6 motorway, they'll will perhaps be able to make more sense as to why they reacted as they did, and why she was 'really' released so early from hospital, and why it is highly likely she had nothing to do with Glenn Hollinshead's murder, and if this is the case, the 'real' killer/s are still on the loose! Going back the mind control issuse, the eBook has around 22,000 more words than the paperback. The following chapters are in the eBook only. Hope this helps. Thank you for your interest, and you too are free to reply and ask whatever you wish.

Darren Walbold: The book looks a very a interesting read and thank you for researching this topic if only for the poor gentleman's brother who was murdered sake. Even viewed with what I might call a purely rational secular take on reality there are some very strange goings on in this case to say the least. - To be honest my view on what happened hear are that this is connected to much deeper and darker things. Not only that the people involved in this are not at the lower end of influence on sociality in fact quite the opposite, as such in trying to expose this you are very much up against the powers and princapalitys in high places!
Dan Jordan: I will definitely purchase the paperback version, as to be completely honest, I much prefer a physical book in my hands in any case, like I said - I only purchased the PDF for the extra content. I thank you once again and wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. I look forward to this superb read (already started reading it whilst we are preparing our Xmas dinner with all the family round). I find this topic incredibly fascinating and want to congratulate you on researching this and taking this story on, presenting it in a highly readable manner. I will promote your book to everyone that I know will be receptive to this type of material. Thank-you once again for your extreme professionalism. I will be purchasing the paperback version forthwith and it will take pride of place within my (physical) library. Merry Xmas to you both. Dan

A Madness Shared by Two is the most surreal, extraordinary, confusing and gripping true crime case I have ever come across - and whats more it is still unfolding as we speak!
Add this case to the list of the greatest unsolved mysteries, such as The Zodiac Killer, The Babushka Lady and D.B. Cooper. The difference here is that thanks to the tireless investigation from the writers and researchers, this mystery may end up getting solved.
This book blows the lid off the inaccuracies fed to the public watching the BBC documentary, and offers rational and possible explanations into the girls behaviour and motives. Also gives a fascinating glimpse into the background of the Eriksson twins, and their current whereabouts.
The real truth seems so close yet so far - if anyone is going to uncover it, it will be David and Sharon.

As most people, I was amazed at the BBC episode about these 2 sisters when it was aired. I recently watched it again on YouTube and saw a reference to this book so I downloaded it to my Kindle.
There are some bad reviews on this book, mostly because of the somewhat "conspiracy theory" feel to it, but I really feel there is something strange about the whole thing and this book does shed a LOT of light on the grey areas. Is it dramatised? Well, it PROVES that the BBC episode was which begs the question, what is the real truth?
Take this book as fact or fiction, either way, its a cracking read!

It's been brought to our attention that the video below POLICE COVER-UP - BBC Madness in the Fast Lane Documentary that shows the vital evidence that is 'edited' out of this BBC documentary and was posted to Youtube on the 12/12/12 and had over 9,000 hits has been removed without warning or redress. It's a good job we posted a back-up (45,000+ views) and will do again if this is also "pulled". Please share it on your own FB pages, websites and Youtube accounts. A madness Shared by Two, is not only the true untold story about the lives of Sabina and Ursula Eriksson, alongside the murder of Glenn Hollinshead, based on a critique re-examination of the BBC’s Madness in the Fast Lane documentary that had 7 million viewers [with a conservative estimate of around a further 15 million people having since watched this film via the internet and on websites such as YouTube], glued to their TV screens watching the twin sisters propelling themselves into the fast lane of the oncoming traffic on the UK’s-M6 motorway, as Ursula manages to throw herself under the wheels of a 40ft articulated lorry travelling at 60mph, that seems to swallow her up and spit her lifeless looking body back out of its rear end.
It is also the result of a thorough investigation into what might have really happened on those fateful days that led up to this tragic slaying of an innocent man. We challenge the “Official Storyline” and expose what really occurred just hours before M6 dash, for it is here for the first time we expose the Eriksson sisters were “arrested” under the Mental Health Act, though this vital caught on film evidence was edited out of the original BBC films. This will come as a great surprise to many people who questioned; ‘...how was it possible Sabina could have been released from hospital after only five hours’ following their ‘suicide attempt’ on the M6?
We also reveal that the coroner’s report shows that the injuries inflicted on Glenn, indicate more than one person probably killed him and that Sabina could be totally innocent. Yet this obvious evidence seems to have been brushed under the carpet, or at the very least, it was never challenged.
We explain how these twins were very likely embroiled in a major drugs smuggling ring and that they had been under “Obbo” [police observation] prior to the M6 incident, and was probably so for quite some period of time. As a result of our findings, legal action is now being sought and brought against the police and other related authoritative bodies by the Hollinshead family.
